We began 2021 with a 2 track single from this artist, so it would be rude not to kick start 2022 with Yannons’ debut EP on Transparent Audio!

Deep, techy, and abundant in soul-shaking quantities of bass, Groningen-based drum and bass beatsmith Yannons lands his long-awaited EP on the label, this time serving up some of his best work to date. Entitled the ‘Gila Monster’ EP, the four-track body of work offers an insight into the deep, dark, and introspective sounds of Yannons’ dancefloor-ready, yet truly personal musical world.

Watching Yannons craft and refine his sound thought-out the past year has been a real pleasure to be the platform to host a variety of music from his track ‘Taken Away’ taken from the Refraction Vol. 001 LP to this two-track single including ‘Observe’ this time last year.

Kicking off proceedings with a soundscape full of superbly curated tension, 'Dolomite', which features label favourite Dava, explodes into a collation of heavy subs, snappy snares, and gritty, yet such refined sound design. As we delve deeper into the 'Gila Monster' EP, Bristol-based MC Bluejay serves up his signature ice-cold flow and lyrical prowess alongside a stripped-back, steppy Yannons production in the shape of 'One Man Battalion'.

The title track ‘Gila Monster’ goes on to coat the EP into a high-octane frenzy of energy, showing Yannons evil dark side while lastly, but by no means least, Yannons teams up with Spektiv to form 'Amour', a moody and emotive production that perfectly encapsulates both producers signature sounds.

"Music to me is an outlet for emotions and feelings, especially those that are hard to share in a different way. Allowing the expression of these feelings through music gives my tracks a grimier, deeper and darker edge, but it’s also what keeps me going" - Yannons
